Complete Citrix Certification Guide

Citrix Systems is well-known for its Xen desktop and server products. This suite is an alternative to VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, as well as other enterprise virtualization and cloud offerings.
Citrix donated its Xen Hypervisor, which is now the foundation for the open-source Xen Project, to the Linux Foundation. Since then, Citrix has renamed its virtualization products, added new digital workplace products and networking products to their portfolio, and adopted the cloud with its Citrix Cloud Platform.
Citrix, like many enterprise software companies recognized the importance of certification for both its customers as well as IT professionals. Citrix supports a comprehensive Citrix program that includes defined Citrix certification paths.
This guide provides a detailed introduction to the Citrix certification badges and recommended Citrix paths to obtain Citrix Certification. It also includes insight into job opportunities that are related to the Citrix Certification path.

What is Citrix Certification?
Citrix certifications prove that an IT professional is competent in managing complex enterprise cloud and network environments. There are three levels of experience in the basic Citrix certification path: Citrix certified associate, Citrix certified professional, and Citrix certified expert for virtualization or networking.
Citrix certifications include credentials for Citrix Virtual Apps, Citrix Desktops on Citrix Cloud, Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform, Citrix ShareFile and Citrix Endpoint management, Citrix XenServer and Citrix SDWAN. Citrix certifications include the Citrix Certified Service Delivery Professional certification for IT professionals who work with Citrix solution providers.
Citrix certifications require candidates to pass certification exams. IT professionals can also display Proficiency or Skill digital badges on their resumes to show their knowledge and skills with Citrix products. These badges can only be earned by completing relevant Citrix eLearning courses or assessments.
All Citrix certification exams can be taken at any Pearson VUE testing centre. Alternatively, certain Citrix certification exams can be taken at the candidate’s office or home. The exams can be taken online and monitored by an authorized proctor. The Citrix certification exams are $300 for Citrix Certified Expert exams and Citrix certified professional exams, and $200 each for all other exams. Under the VA education benefits program, exam candidates who are U.S. veterans can get reimbursement for their Citrix certification exam expenses.
Citrix certified professionals and candidates for Citrix Certification can use the web-based Citrix Certification Manager to keep track of their Citrix status. They can also publish their Citrix credentials to third parties. Citrix Certification Manager keeps track of the status of candidates on Citrix certification exams as well as self-paced online courses.
Citrix vs. VMware
Citrix is a loyal enterprise following, even though VMware is the undisputed 800-pound gorilla in virtualization. Citrix claims that Citrix products are used by over 400,000 organizations and 99% of Fortune 500 companies.
